W.I.N. Newsletter Special - Thank You

the past week many of you have reached out to me by e-mail,
Facebook and LinkedIn to congratulate me on receiving the 2011 Law
officer Magazine Trainer of the year award.

I want to thank you for your kind words and your support. They are
greatly appreciated. It was a surprise, an honour and a humbling
experience to receive this prestigious award.
I believe however, this award is less a reflection of me and more a
reflection of the many people who have supported me, helped me,
mentored me, taught me and guided me over the years.
I am blessed to have an extremely supportive family. My beautiful
wife Lynda and I will be celebrating our 30th anniversary this
June. In that 30 years she has always been supportive and
understanding of the long hours, the road trips and my passion for
training. My sons Jesse and Cody continue to inspire me with their
creativity and keep me grounded and focused on the important tasks.
My parents and siblings continue to demonstrate their unconditional
love and support and are always there for me.
In my last 8 1/2 years with the Calgary Police Service I was
surrounded by some of the most dedicated and professional trainers
in the profession. They guided me, taught me, mentored me and
supported me. Over the course of my career I have had the pleasure
of training with some of the best and the brightest and through my
time with ILEETA I continue to spend time with these people, many
of whom have become close friends.
I appreciate your patience with my ramblings here. I believe it is
important to always remember none of us achieve success alone. As
Althea Gibson said, "No matter what accomplishments you make,
somebody helped you." For me the list of people who have helped me
would fill volumes. For your help, guidance and support, I say thank you.
Take care.
