W.I.N. Newsletter - The Unhonoured and Unsung

Published: Wed, 05/11/11

"Let it never be forgotten that glamour is not greatness, applause
is not fame, prominence is not eminence, the man of the hour is not
apt to be the man of the ages, a stone may sparkle but that does
not make it a diamond, and man may have money, but that does not
make him a success. It is what the unimportant do that really
counts and determines the course of history. The greatest forces
in the universe are never spectacular. Summer showers are more
effective than hurricanes, but they get no publicity. The world
would soon die but for the fidelity, loyalty and consecration of
those whose names are unhonored and unsung." Dr. Joseph R. Sizoo

I am certain you know people who are among the unhonoured and
unsung people Sizoo refers to in this quote. In fact, you may ne
one yourself.

A small percentage of people in any field become very well known.
None are overnight successes. Each of them work tirelessly for
years to improve themselves, to improve their organization, to
improve the world for others. Sometimes that work gets you noticed
although that is usually never the goal. Sometimes you receive an
award for your efforts. When that happens it is humbling because
you know there are so many who deserve the recognition, but only
one will get the award.

Who do you know in your life who falls into the category of the
unhonoured and unsung?

What will you do to honour them?

What will you do to sing their praises?

I encourage you to honour them in a way that is appropriate and
meaningful to them. That may be very different from how you would
like to be honoured. Everyone likes to be appreciated but not
everyone likes it to take place in public so do your homework first
to determine what meaningful recognition looks and feels like for
them.

In an effort to help you with that recognition we have decided to
offer a volume discount on the four books we have published through
Warrior Spirit Books. If you would like to purchase books to honour
those people in your life who do so much without a great deal of
recognition we are offering what we are calling Pay it Forward
pricing on the following books:
1. W.I.N.: Critical Issues in Training and Leading Warriors
2. W.I.N. 2: Insights Into Training and Leading Warriors
3. If I Knew Then: Life lessons From Cops on the Street
4. If I Knew Then 2: Warrior Reflections

If you buy a minimum of 10 books you will receive a discount of
20%. If you buy 20 or more books you will receive a discount of
25%. Until July 1 we will pay the shipping costs and the GST. It
can be any combination of any of the four books.

To take advantage of this offer you can complete the attached order
form and e-mail it to us at winningmind@mac.com or fax it to
403-279-5911.

Take care.
