W.I.N. Newsletter Special: A Legacy of Purpose

Published: Fri, 09/07/12

I appreciate your indulgence of two special newsletters in a week. I will certainly not make a habit of this but I wanted to share this information with you.

In my Pursuit of Personal Excellence presentations I explore the concept of Your Life IS Your Legacy . As an element of that presentation I share some thoughts by author Jon Gordon on Ways to Leave a Legacy. One of those is a Legacy of Purpose: People are most energized when they are using their strengths and talents for a purpose beyond themselves.

What is your legacy of purpose? How are you using your strengths and talents for a purpose beyond yourself? Is it a cause in your workplace, your church, your community or something beyond your immediate area.

One of the examples I often share of a legacy of purpose is the John Petropoulos Memorial Fund. The JPMF (www.jpmf.ca ) was established to honour Constable John Petropoulos of the Calgary Police Service who died in the line of duty on September 29, 2000.

The mission of the JPMF is: We strive to eliminate preventable workplace fatalities and injuries to emergency responders by educating the public about its role in helping to keep these essential workers safe on the job.

On October 13, 2012 I will be conducting a Pursuit of Personal Excellence Seminar at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel in Calgary and a portion of the proceeds will go to support the important work being done by the JPMF.
I have attached a brochure for the event and information and registration in available on our website at www.winningmindtraining.com

Feel free to bring a friend (or five friends) to this powerful seminar. It cannot not only change your life, but it could help save a life. Please circulate the information on this event so we can all help keep emergency services personnel safe.

Take care.
