Celebrating the Warrior Spirit Seminar and the Heroes Behind the Badge

This powerful one day seminar will explore and celebrate the concept of the Warrior Spirit. The Warrior Spirit is a powerful force residing within each and every officer who has chosen to serve in the law enforcement profession. This Warrior Spirit is a critical element in the ability of law enforcement officers to be successful in a profession that is challenging, rewarding and sometimes extremely violent. The mission for law enforcement officers, supervisors and leaders is to understand the Warrior Spirit and strive to foster, nurture and develop that Warrior Spirit in themselves and their fellow officers. The Warrior Spirit is about the warrior values of honor, professionalism, courage, integrity, strength, humility, and discipline. The same traits that are reflected in the core values of every law enforcement organization in North America.

In addition to exploring and celebrating the Warrior Spirit this day is about celebrating the Heroes Behind the Badge. The Heroes Behind the Badge are the men and women who put on a uniform everyday and willingly put themselves in harms way to help protect members of society and to serve their community.

"Before we call any collection of belligerents a culture of warriors, we should first ask why they fight, how they fight, what brings them honor, and what brings them shame. The answers to these questions will reveal whether or not they have a true warrior's code."

The Warrior's Code by Prof. Shannon E. French, Ph.D., U.S. Naval Academy

Why warriors fight, how warriors fight, what brings them honor and what brings them shame will be explored through the powerful presentation by Randy Watt - One Warrior's Creed. One Warrior's Creed is a philosophy, a way of living, training and preparing mentally and physically for the realities of the warrior profession. Randy will break down each line of the creed and give everyone in attendance a deep and powerful insight into the need to be trained, fit and ready for any circumstance, for any opponent, for any challenge.

Carrying on with the theme of fit, trained and ready Michael Neal, the 2011 IACP Officer of the Year will share his role in ending a brutal gun battle in West Memphis, Arkansas that resulted in the death of two West Memphis police officers and critically wounding of a Crittenden County Sheriff and his Chief Deputy.  Michael ended the killing spree by ramming his state issued patrol vehicle into a minivan carrying two shooters. While under direct fire, he engaged them in a fierce gun battle, eliminated the threat and saved many lives.

The day will end with a viewing of the powerful new documentary Heroes Behind the Badge . The official release of the documentary will be two weeks before this presentation at the 2012 IACP conference. Those in attendance will be among the first officers in North America to view this professional film which honors the heroes of the law enforcement profession in North America and will receive a copy of the documentary.

This seminar will definitely change your life, and may very well save your life.
